November 2009 The Naples Beach Hotel In SW Florida Completes Multi-Million Dollar Remodeling"

NAPLES, FL (November 2009) – The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in Southwest Florida has completed a multi-million dollar remodeling of all 319 guest rooms and suites. The resort also is nearing completion of its $5 million all-new pool complex, which will be complete by mid-December 2009. The resort features 34,000 square feet of meeting space, many beautiful outdoor venues, and is Southwest Florida’s only resort directly on the beach with an on-site championship golf course, a world-class spa, and an award-winning tennis center.

The resort has completed a dramatic remodeling and renovation of all 319 guest rooms and suites. The first phase of this multi-million dollar guest room project, which was completed in January 2008, included new bedding and fabrics, flat-panel televisions, rich new furnishings, and accents in calming tropical shades. This second (and final) phase of this project included totally-remodeled bathrooms in all guest rooms and suites, new carpet in all guest rooms and guest room corridors, and new sliding glass doors in guest rooms and suites.

The totally-remodeled bathrooms in the guest rooms and suites are larger, with a sizeable new walk-in glass-enclosed shower with striking sea-blue tile. The newly-remodeled bathrooms now feature new double sinks, spacious new vanities, beautiful new tile floors, new fixtures, and vanity mirrors. In addition, another vanity outside of the bathroom (complete with a sink, a large mirror, a vanity mirror, and towels) has been added so that another person can get ready while the bathroom is in use. This remodeling of the bathrooms kicked off in November 2008, and was done in phases so as not to adversely affect guests or groups.

The resort has invested more than $16 million on our guest rooms and suites since 2007, and more than $55 million on enhancements to our resort since 2000,” said Jim Gunderson, general manager of the resort. “We made these investments to ensure we’re providing an exceptional experience to all of our groups and guests. With all of these impressive enhancements, it really is like a new resort.

In addition, the resort is nearing completion of its all-new new pool complex. The new, much larger, beachfront pool complex is just north of the existing pool area, and features two pools (a free-form pool for families, and a secluded oval-shaped pool for adults), whereas the existing area features just one pool. The area also features two new whirlpools, with one located by the family pool, and the other by the adult pool. There also are eight new cabanas that may be reserved, which provide views of both the pool and the Gulf. The $5 million pool project also includes new restrooms, new locker facilities, a pool bar with food service, and a new pool shop. Picturesque tall palms encircle this new large pool area, and there is easy access for guests to walk right onto the beach.

The pool project began in July 2009, and will be complete by mid-December 2009. The existing beachfront pool will remain open until the new pool complex is complete.

“Groups, meeting planners, and guests will just love this new pool complex,” said Gunderson. “Not only is it be much larger, with the option of two different pools, and two whirlpools, but it also provides a much better view of the beach than the existing pool area provides.”

A consistent recipient of many of the meetings industry’s highest honors, the resort features 34,000 square feet of meeting space, and many scenic outdoor venues for meetings and receptions. The 22,000 square feet of meeting space in The Clubhouse provides an impressive view overlooking the resort’s championship golf course. Meeting rooms include the 6,283-square-foot River of Grass Ballroom, which can accommodate over 650 for receptions, and the 2,457-square-foot Mangrove Ballroom.

NAPLES, FL (November 2009) – Holiday shopping in Southwest Florida just got a little easier. Just in time for the holidays, The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has debuted an all-new “Beach Club Card.” This new gift card can be purchased in any denomination, and may be used at the resort’s world-class spa, championship golf course, beachfront restaurant HB’s on the Gulf, bars such as the popular Sunset Beach Bar, and at the expansive Sunday Brunch at the waterfront Everglades Room. The resort is offering two new programs to reunion groups: the “Reunion Stimulus Package” and a “Check In Offer,” according the General Manager Jim Gunderson.

The “Reunion Stimulus Package” is available to reunion groups booking and holding a new program by December 31, 2010. Based on availability, the package includes: no attrition for qualified programs, free daily meeting room rental, a complimentary afternoon break, one complimentary guest room for every 25 paid, free entrance for attendees to the fitness center (with use of the exercise room, whirlpool, sauna and steam room), free wireless Internet access in all guestrooms, 25% off audiovisual services, and 25% off golf greens fees. To qualify, it must be a new booking with a minimum of 20 rooms per night for at least two nights. The package is not valid with any other offers, and some restrictions may apply.

Known in the Florida Jazz scene for many years, the band is made up of eight of Florida's best female blues, R&B, rock and jazz musicians. NAPLES, FL (February 2009) — HB's on the Gulf, the city of Naples' only beachfront restaurant, has unveiled new lunch and dinner menus. Located at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, the restaurant is a consistent recipient of Wine Spectator's "Award of Excellence," and captured the "Best Seafood" prize at the Taste of Collier.

The dinner menu includes such new appetizers as: Portobello Mushroom Quesadilla with artichokes, mozzarella, Kalamata olives, and roasted red peppers; Grilled Marinated Quail with toasted couscous and thyme jus lie; and Twin Baby Lamb Chops with Boursin cheese and rosemary jus. These new offerings join such remaining favorites as the award-winning Seared Yellowfin Tuna.

New dinner entrées include Coriander Rubbed Salmon topped with jicama and corn relish; an all-organic Roasted Vegetable Ravioli dish with fresh tomato sauce; Maine Lobster and Lump Blue Crab Stew cooked in brandy cream sauce; 14 ounce Porterhouse Pork Chop served with an apple and onion confit; and a Free Range Chicken Breast stuffed with Tasso ham, smoked gouda, and caramelized onions. Not to worry, as the ever popular Shrimp, Scallop and Angel Hair Provencal remains as one of the area's favorite signature seafood dishes. Dinner entrées range from $22 - $34, and the restaurant is open nightly from 5-10:30 p.m.

NAPLES, FL (November 2008) -- The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in Southwest Florida is now a certified participant in the Florida Green Lodging Program, and has just been awarded the prestigious One Palm rating by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The core requirements of the program include water conservation, energy efficiency, waste reduction, clean air, and communications.

To achieve the green certification, the resort must adopt "green" practices that reduce waste and conserve natural resources. This includes the implementation of many green programs throughout the property for both staff and guests, and the passing of a rigorous on-site inspection. The recognition plaque will be presented to Jim Gunderson, general manager of the 318-room resort, which is Southwest Florida's only resort directly on the beach with on-site championship golf, a world-class spa, and an award-winning tennis center.

"We are very proud of the recognition," said Gunderson. "Our entire staff worked hard to make our resort green-certified, as we realize the importance of reducing waste and conserving our natural resources. This included installing water-efficient showerheads, implementing an extensive recycling program throughout the resort, installing high-efficiency air filters, installing high energy-efficient lighting, and communicating to our guests ways that they can help."

"In addition," Gunderson added, "we use ‘Green Sealed' cleaning products and detergents that reduce toxicity, as well as a single-step low alkaline detergent for our laundry. We've reduced our water use per laundry load by 18 percent, and utilize organically-based fertilizers, nutrients, and pesticides on our golf course. All of this has resulted in a very positive response from our guests and groups. We are so pleased to be a participant in the program."

NAPLES, FL (July 2008) - HB's on the Gulf, the beachfront restaurant at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, has once again captured the prestigious "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator magazine. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the popular restaurant has won the award, according to Jim Anderson, the resort's food & beverage director.

The "Award of Excellence" is given to restaurants in recognition of their commitment to a fine wine list, with a diverse selection of better producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Wine lists need to be extensive, and usually offer at least 80 selections. HB's wine list features more than 140 selections from around the world, including 1997 vintage California Cabernets and a 4-year vertical of Australia's Penfolds Grange. This year's award winners will be listed in the August issue of Wine Spectator.

NAPLES, FL (January 2008) - The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has completed a multi-million dollar remodeling of its 318 guest rooms and suites, according to Jim Gunderson, general manager of the resort, which is Southwest Florida's only resort directly on the beach to feature an on-site championship golf course, world-class spa, and award-winning tennis center.

Guest rooms and suites now feature new bedding and fabrics, flat-panel televisions, and accents in calming tropical shades.

Standard offerings in rooms and suites include a private balcony or patio, with a view of the Gulf, lush grounds, or scenic golf course. Standard amenities include large closets, in-room refrigerator, two telephones with voicemail, modem access, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, in-room safe, cable television, in-room coffee, climate control, and security keycards. High-speed wireless Internet access is also available.

The remodeling project was done by DeLaRosa Studio, under the direction of principal designer Marcie DeLaRosa. Based in Chicago, DeLaRosa Studio has been responsible for redesigning a number of resorts and hotels, which includes Little Palm Island Resort in the Florida Keys.

"We chose DeLaRosa Studio because of their exceptional work with other resorts, and because of their focus on creating intimate, timeless, and aesthetically pleasing spaces that really mesh with their surroundings," said Gunderson.

Gunderson continued, "The new rooms and suites really maintain our resort's unique charm, but provide a great fresh, new look that will really please our guests."

These latest improvements at the resort follow a six-year, $40 million enhancement and expansion, which was completed in 2006. That project included a $6 million remodeling of the lobby, so that it now provides a stunning view of the Gulf of Mexico.
