Resort Overview - Local Information - Historic South FL

The Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club not only offers many amenities that other South Florida hotels and resorts do not, but you will also be able to enjoy many of the historical aspects of our Naples FL area nearby. The convenient location of our hotel to these historical places is one advantage to staying with us versus other FL hotels and resorts.

Historic Information

Naples Pier

The historic Naples Pier stretches out 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico. Before the railroad came to Naples, FL, all arriving visitors and supplies came by boat and landed at the Pier. The Pier is a great place to fish and people-watch.   Located 1.5 miles south of the beach resort.

Palm Cottage

The historic Palm Cottage, just one block east of the Pier, was built in 1895. It is a pristine example of tabby mortar, a homemade-cement, made by burning seashells over a very hot fire; using a species of mangrove called "buttonwood."Guided tours are available through this Victorian-era furnished home. Located 1.5 miles south of the beach resort. NaplesHistoricalSociety.org

Collier County Museum

Journey back over 10,000 years of Southwest Florida's unique past.   You will learn about mastodons and fierce saber cats, Calusa and Seminole Indians and the rugged pioneers who settled one of America's last frontiers. You can also enjoy five acres of native gardens, early Naples cottages, swamp buggies and a logging locomotive. Located 4 miles from the beach resort.
