The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club Captures Smart Meetings Magazine’s “Platinum Choice Award”

NAPLES, FL (December 2012) -- The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has received the prestigious “Platinum Choice Award” for 2012 from Smart Meetings magazine. The award recognizes the best meeting hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as determined by votes by the magazine’s readers. Winners were chosen based on the highest industry standards for ambience, amenities, guest services, meeting space, restaurant and dining facilities, staff attitude, technical support, recreational activities, breadth of resources, meeting packages, marketing support, and convention facilities. The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club is one of only two hotels in Southwest Florida, and one of just nine hotels and resorts in Florida, to receive the award this year.

The award will be presented to Jason Parsons, general manager of the 317-room newly renovated resort, which is Southwest Florida’s only resort directly on the beach with an on-site championship golf course, a world-class spa, and an award-winning tennis center. The 125-acre resort features 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and many beautiful outdoor venues. Not resting on its many laurels, the resort is on target to complete its latest phase of renovations and enhancements by the end of 2012. This $5 million phase includes the opening of a new Gulf-view ballroom that will feature spectacular panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico, and which will be Naples’ only beachfront ballroom. This phase also includes the complete renovation of the remaining guest rooms in the resort’s Florida Wing, and the complete renovation of the resort’s Gulf-side meeting rooms and pre-function space. When the guest room renovation is complete, all of the resort’s 317 guest rooms and suites will have been renovated and remodeled over the last three years.
This $5 million latest phase of improvements follows $40 million spent by the resort over the last five years. That multi-phase project included the renovation and remodeling of the other guest rooms and suites, enhancements to the golf course, the renovation and expansion of The Sunset Beach Bar & Grill, and the addition of a beautiful beachfront pool complex (with two new pools, two new whirlpools, a new pool bar with food service, new restrooms, new locker facilities, and a new pool shop).

In this latest phase, the resort will open The Everglades Room, a new beachfront ballroom that will feature a wall of windows that will provide incredible panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico. The 5,000-square-foot ballroom will be dedicated for corporate events, banquets, weddings, and social events. Located where the resort’s Everglades Dining Room (which served breakfast) was situated, the beautifully-enhanced Everglades Room will feature dramatic vaulted ceilings covered with rich draped fabric.

At the end of 2012, the resort also will debut two completely renovated Gulf-side meeting rooms. One of the rooms will be 1,097 square feet, and the other will be 1,159 square feet. The renovation of the adjacent pre-function space also will be complete at that time too.

A recipient of many other meeting industry awards too, the resort offers a variety of venues for meetings and receptions. The resort features 34,000 square feet of meeting space, most with an impressive view overlooking the championship golf course. Venue options include the 6,283-square-foot River of Grass Ballroom, the 2,457-square-foot Mangrove Ballroom, and such scenic outdoor venues as the Watkins Lawn and the Ocean Lawn.
