Golf & Tennis - Course History

The resort course was first built in the 1920’s and was purchased and restored in 1946 by Henry B. Watkins, Sr.  It was later redesigned by Mark Mahannah in 1948, then later again by Ron Garl in 1980, 1993 and 1998. It is the oldest course in the Naples community.

COURSE RECORD: The course record is 63, nine under par, was set in 1963 by head golf professional, Paul Bell while playing with Gene Sarazen, Henry B. Watkins Sr. and Patty Berg. Paul Bell shown here serving as Honorary Tournament Chairman for the 1996 Hickory Stick Tournament; part of the resort's 50th Anniversary Celebration.
